Intermediate (Standard) First Aid and CPR

Standard First Aid with cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) is a comprehensive two-day program to deal with workplace injuries and medical emergencies, meet legislative requirements and prepare for injuries in and outside the home.  Standard First Aid training is appropriate for individuals and workplaces that have ready access to Emergency Medical Services (EMS).  Where medical services may realistically be delayed more than 30 minutes, Wilderness First Aid is more appropriate.

The First Aid programs taught by Arctic Response meet or exceed national, territorial and provincial standards and incorporate the most recent  2010 Heart and Stroke CPR Guidelines.  Additionally, Arctic Response sits on the Canadian Standards Association (CSA) Technical Committee currently developing CSA standards for Workplace First Aid.

Important Note: Standard First Aid and CPR training meets national, territorial and provincial standards.  Standard First Aid with CPR has been approved by the WSCC for NWT and NU to satisfy the June 1, 2015 requirements for Level 1 First Aid Attendant.
