Full-time, permanent position, working 75 hours bi-weekly
$106,832.78 - $137,566.42

What’s YESAB?
The Yukon Environmental and Socio-economic Assessment Board (YESAB) is an independent body established under the Umbrella Final Agreement and YESAA legislation in 2003. YESAB conducts environmental and socio-economic assessments of projects before they are approved by the governing body. Our purpose is to conduct neutral, timely, efficient, and effective environmental and socio-economic assessments in the Yukon.
Location
The successful candidate may reside anywhere within the Mayo Assessment District, including Mayo, Carmacks, Pelly Crossing, Stewart Crossing, Keno, or surrounding areas. Please note that if the successful candidate resides outside of Mayo, regular travel to Mayo Designated Office will be required to work out of the Mayo Designated Office and support in-person operational needs.

Eligibility
- An undergraduate degree and/or post-secondary training in environmental science, social science or a similar field of study is preferred. Relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of a formal degree.
- General knowledge of the Yukon Environmental and Socio-economic Assessment Act, as well as Yukon First Nations and First Nations Agreements, is required.
- Experience working in a First Nation government is considered an asset.
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s license.
An underfill may be considered for this position, with a starting salary set at 80% of the full salary range. This will remain in effect until the successful candidate completes the required training and development plan to reach the working level of the role
The Assessment District Manager, reporting to the Assessment Director, will be a part of the Assessment Branch, as well as YESAB’s management team. The Assessment District Manager is responsible for:
- Managing and supporting all projects assessed in the Mayo Assessment District.
- Maintaining relationships with proponents, the Government of Canada, First Nations, and the Yukon Government.
- Ensuring that participants understand the assessment review process and how to best participate in that process
- Managing the operations of the Designated Office and providing support, guidance, and supervision to staff.
