Webinar Tone: Why how you write is just as important as what you write.

Description:

Tone: Why how you write is just as important as what you write

November 6, 2024 12:00 MDT
90 minutes

This virtual webinar is designed to engage participants by way of dialogue and discussions. You will learn to recognize how tone affects the way people receive information and how to adjust the tone of your writing to match a specific audience.

You’re putting your main messages first. Your sentences are short and use active verbs. Using plain language tools is helping to make your communication clear. But how, exactly, do you find the right tone for your audience? Can you be personal and professional? Neutral yet friendly?

This webinar will help administrative justice professionals recognize how context, document structure, voice, word choice, sentence patterns, and design contribute to tone and consider how each of these affects your audience.

Participants will begin to think about how the right tone can improve communication, save time, and build trust with clients and co-workers.
