This workshop introduces you to conscious aging (and its counterpart, conscious eldering) and the inner work that is important on this path. Topics include:
- Conscious Aging and Conscious Eldering - what it is and what it involves
- Elder years as potential a time of growth, fulfillment, passion, and service
- Engaging your potential and purpose
- Why connecting to community and the natural world are critical in elder years

Your workshop leaders are Larry Gray and Susan Manning; both are members of the Colorado-based Centre for Conscious Eldering.
Susan Manning is a Professor Emerita, Graduate School of Social Work, University of Denver. Dr. Manning’s teaching and research interests included professional ethics, civic leadership and moral identity, and client empowerment in mental health systems. She has been inspired by the conscious aging movement since her retirement, and has participated actively in conscious elder retreats and Sage-ing conferences. She values a strengths approach to life stage development and believes in the power of our life stories to help us move forward.
Larry Gray is an environmental studies instructor at Yukon College. Larry sees our deep connection to the land and natural world as a source of wisdom that we can access throughout our lives, particularly in our elderhood. He is a also Research Affiliate with the Institute for Aging & Lifelong Health at the University of Victoria.
