Course Description
Advanced Decision Writing is a 14-hour course that continues intended for experienced decision-makers or those who intend to improve their decision-writing skills. It builds on audience-focused decision writing. Learners will work on a variety of decision-writing techniques. They will also have experienced decision-writers give feedback on their decisions. This course will include large and small group discussions and exercises. Learners will practice particular advanced skills and techniques through discussion, focused writing exercises and drafting or revising a decision.
Prerequisite: Completion of the CTAJ™
The purpose of this advanced course:
- To advance the writing skills directly relevant to tribunal members and staff.
- To improve specific aspects of written decisions.
- To make written decisions readable, understandable and transparent.
