Reporting to the Tr’inkè Zho Supervisor, this position is responsible for the supervision of children ages six to twelve years old, including Kindergartners, afterschool and during school closures. This position is responsible for carrying out the section program to meet the individual needs of the children in this area and ensuring YG regulations are followed at all times. This position works in direct partnership with other After School Early Childhood Educators.
An Eligibility List may be established from this competition – the duration of the eligibility list may be up to 12 months. The eligibility list may be used to fill future permanent full-time, permanent part-time, temporary full-time, temporary part-time, term, or auxiliary on-call vacancies within the same department and classification based on the organizational needs by going the next highest ranked candidate until the eligibility list expires.

Essential Qualifications:
- Experience working with children in an Early Childhood setting or related environment.
- Certificate and/or Diploma in Early Childhood Education or related field
- Experience working in a team environment
- Experience or knowledge in working with First Nation children and families
- Knowledge of Early Childhood development theory, principles and practices
- Knowledge of YG Child Care regulations
- Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with families
- Energy and ability to fit in with a dynamic team working under pressure.
Conditions of Employment:
- Criminal record check with vulnerable sector screening.
- Medical clearance, TB test and OPEN immunization record
- Standard First Aid Certification and CPR
- Attendance at all staff meetings and assisting in volunteer events
- Attending any relevant courses / workshops provided, which includes Early Childhood Development and Hän language courses
- Perform duties on the daycare side when school age children are in school
- TH101 Cultural Awareness training.
