Community Services is seeking a dedicated and professional Tenant Relations Officer to join our Housing team. The Tenant Relations Officer is responsible for tenant relations by providing housing education, policy enforcement, administrative support and rent receivable duties for the housing program and tenant file maintenance. Providing liaison and counselling for tenants.

Summary of Key Responsibilities:

- Address tenant inquiries, concerns, and complaints effectively and compassionately.

- Assist tenants with lease agreements and the relocation process when necessary.

- Maintain accurate records of tenant meetings, concerns, and resolutions.

- Provide education and resources to tenants regarding their rights and responsibilities.

- Participate in the development and revision of housing policies as needed.

Required Qualifications (what we look for on your resume):  An equivalent combination of post-secondary education (i.e.: Diploma), combined with significant current/lived experience in the areas identified above, will equally be considered.

  • Experience providing customer/client service (e.g. providing advice/information, collecting and entering information, preparing correspondence);
  • Post-secondary education in social services, community relations, or a related field is preferred; and
  • Experience in tenant relations or property management is an asset. 


Required knowledge and skills (what we interview on/assess for):

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on conflict resolution;
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating initiative and professionalism;
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite;
  • Attention to detail; and
  • Reading comprehension and ability to understand and advise on policies.

Knowledge of Yukon First Nations history within formalized education systems, residential schools and ongoing intergenerational effects specific to education and social programming is an asset. Familiarity with Kwanlin Dün First Nation history, culture, goals and aspirations is required for success in the role.
