Join our passionate team at Jackson Lake Healing Camp as we embark on an exciting journey to expand our transformative programs year-round, where your leadership as Project Manager will play a pivotal role in creating a lasting impact on the health and well-being of our community.

 

The Project Manager role is responsible for the planning, development, execution and oversight of detailed plans to transition Jackson Lake Healing Camp (JLHC) into a year-round operating facility.  The Project Manager will work collaboratively with the Jackson Lake Healing Camp team to establish strategic planning for infrastructure needs, budgetary requirements, staffing needs, communication strategies and administrative coordination including records management and quality assurance.

 

Required Qualifications (what we look/screen for on your resume):

  • Education/training in project management, social services, health sciences, or a related field;
  • Recent experience working in a healthcare or cultural wellness environment, projects or initiatives (preferably with land-based programming);
  • Experience in the development and planning of programs including managing a budget and resource allocations;
  • Experience in community engagement; including communication strategies, presentations, and facilitations; and
  • Experience developing policies and procedures is an asset;

Required knowledge and skills (what we asses on/may interview on):

 

  • Strong leadership and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously;
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships;
  • Knowledge of indigenous healing practices and cultural values is highly desirable.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

 

Knowledge of Kwanlin Dün First Nation governance structure, our community, heritage and culture, social structure, language and traditions, goals, and aspirations are essential for success in this position.

 

Conditions of employment: Valid Class 5 Driver’s License and personal transportation, Valid First Aid and CPR level C certification or willingness to obtain within three months of hire, Food Safe Level 1, Willingness to work occasional irregular hours including evenings and weekends, Acceptable criminal records check with vulnerable sector search before commencement of employment.

 

Job Requirements: The majority of this work takes place between an office environment in Whitehorse and indoors/outdoors at the Jackson Lake Healing Camp. Travel outside of the territory may be required 1-2 times per year.
