$109,073.69-$145,531.61

The Yukon Environmental and Socio-economic Assessment Board (YESAB) is an independent body established under the Umbrella Final Agreement and YESAA legislation in 2003. YESAB conducts environmental and socio-economic assessments of projects before they are approved by the governing body.

Eligibility
- Degree in Business Communication, Communication Studies, Corporate Communication, Public Relations, Journalism, or equivalent combination of education and lived experience
- Strong knowledge of communication development methods, public education, and awareness strategies
- Experience providing strategic communication advice to leadership
- Experience engaging Indigenous governments, government representatives, stakeholder groups, and the public
- Knowledge of Yukon Environmental and Socio-economic Assessment Act (YESAA) and Yukon First Nations and First Nation Agreements
Reporting to the Executive Director, the Strategic Communications Manager is part of YESAB’s corporate team. This role leads YESAB’s Communications Strategy while supporting relationships with staff, stakeholders, all levels of governments, and the public. The Strategic Communications Manager is responsible for:
- Leading corporate communication planning, vision, and narrative development, and serving as YESAB’s media contact.
- Designing and delivering public education and awareness initiatives
- Briefing the Executive Director and senior leadership on emerging issues
- Providing communication leadership during organizational initiatives and change management
- Ensuring consistency in branding across all corporate materials, reports (including the Annual Report), digital communications, and social media
- Leading outreach to understand perspectives of Indigenous governments, governments, stakeholders, and the public
- Managing contracts with communications consultants and designers
- Supervising and supporting the Communications Unit, including performance management and task coordination
