As a Research Professional, you will be responsible for supporting the development and implementation of research program areas and projects related to a programmatic area of focus, that align with Yukon University’s Strategic Directions and values, build northern capacity, and addresses northern needs. The ideal candidate will have a relevant degree in a health or related field, as well as experience working with the health field and doing project management or research activities within a university or health care system. 

If you have strong communication, interpersonal, organizational, problem-solving, critical-thinking, time management, and creative skills, and a demonstrated ability to initiate actions, lead a team and work with minimal supervision please apply. Duties include: 
•Supports data collection and management, including qualitative and quantitative data, and secondary analysis.
• Enters data and manages research data and other confidential files within a secured system.
• Performs data analysis using appropriate software.
• Performs literature searches and knowledge translation activities as needed.
• Provides administrative support duties, including meeting and event coordination, minute taking, drafting of ethics applications, facilitating team communication, create and conducts pre and post surveys, and other related tasks as needed.
• Contributes to the development of a measurement framework including selected performance/outcome indicators based on available evaluation resources. 
• Contribute to the dissemination of research results through co-authorship of technical reports, peer-reviewed publications, presentations, meetings, media interactions, and other internal and public communication avenues.

Qualifications:
The ideal candidate has an undergraduate degree (or diploma with significant experience) in a relevant health-related discipline, some research and/or evaluation and/or knowledge translation experience, as well as the following:
• Strong and current knowledge base and/or experience in at least one of these fields: gerontology, long-term care, palliative care, aging and wellness, and/or social determinants of health. Experience in more than one of these areas is an asset.
• Experience with data collection and analysis (either quantitative or qualitative).
• Experience with program evaluation and/or community-based and participatory action research is preferred.
• Familiarity with academic/scientific bibliographic databases, including literature search and retrieval.
• Knowledge of ethics review submissions and accompanying requirements is an asset.
• Strong writing skills for academic and non-academic audiences.
• Proficiency in Windows applications and Canva.
• The incumbent will be self-directed, able to prioritize tasks efficiently, communicate effectively, sociable, and conscientious.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with a variety of government, non-government and academic organizations
• Experience in designing and carrying out research or quality assurance projects in an academic or health care environment.
