Recreation and Health Coordinator (Competition #2026-002)

Permanent, Full-time (office in Burwash Landing)
Salary: LT-4, $70,856.93 to $99,012.85 per annum based on 70 hours bi-weekly (depending on qualifications and experience)

Overview
Working as a team member under the direction of the Wellness and Education Director, this position is responsible for planning, coordinating, administering, and delivering a variety of community recreation and health promotion programs and activities. These programs serve the broader community, including youth and Elders.

Education and Experience

Diploma or degree in Recreation and Health Education or a related field. Considerable experience in a related field. Athletic coaching knowledge and skills are considered an asset. Preference will be given to those with experience working with a First Nation or within a First Nation environment. An equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience may be considered. 

Conditions of Employment

  • Clean RCMP criminal record check
  • Clean vulnerable sector check
  • Valid Yukon Class 4 driver’s license (or willingness to obtain within the first 60 days of employment)
  • First Aid Certificate (or willingness to obtain within the first 60 days of employment)
  • Food Safe Certificate (or willingness to obtain within the first 60 days of employment)
  • Willingness to travel
