Reporting to the Executive Director the successful candidate will provide outreach services and support to individuals and families experiencing FASD (Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder). Based out of the Whitehorse Office located on Black Street the work is conducted in various community settings. Duties will include providing direct services and supports to clients and collaboration with health and social partners to support persons who access our services.

This is a full-time employment opportunity working 8 hours per day Monday to Friday – option for renewal based on funding

The rate of pay is $29 per hour, paid biweekly

The ideal candidate will:

• Have education, training, and or experience in a health or social field
• Have strong knowledge of the Yukon and Whitehorse community
• Demonstrate cultural competency and be willing to engage in ongoing training
• Have strong communication skills both written and oral
• Be a team player and be able to work independently
• Have computer competency including Word, Excel, Outlook, essential internet, and social media
• Have a strong understanding of and demonstrate boundaries, ethics, and confidentiality in their work
• Have experience working in the health and social field with vulnerable individuals and those in crisis
• Have an understanding of homelessness and issues that surround high-risk and vulnerable persons' access to services and support.
• Have knowledge and understanding of neurodiversity and FASD
• Have experience and understanding of working with individuals with addictions and mental health challenges

Required:

• Police Record Check including Vulnerable Sector check
• Valid Yukon Class 5 Drivers License and access to a vehicle
• SFA/CPR
