Kwanlin Dün First Nation’s (KDFN) Finance Department is seeking a Finance Officer to join their team. This position is responsible for performing day-to-day financial service operations in compliance with all legislation, regulations, and KDFN policies. Responsibilities include ensuring that all financial records and transactions are recorded accurately, making remittances, and performing administrative functions as they relate to financial services.

We are looking for a detail-oriented and analytical finance professional with a strong understanding of financial procedures, reconciliation, and compliance, who will provide direct instructions and mentorship to the General Finance Clerks/Accounts Receivable and peer position for the Funding Officer. This position supports the integrity of financial processes through the review and reconciliation of financial data, coordination with internal departments, and adherence to applicable policies, legislation, and audit standards.

Qualifications:

  • Diploma in Business Administration, Finance, or Accounting (or equivalent);
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in accounts payable/receivable and financial systems management;

               Or

  • An equivalent combination of on-the-job training, coursework, workshops, and at least 5 years of experience in accounts payable/receivable and financial systems management.

Knowledge of Yukon First Nations history within formalized education systems, residential schools and on-going intergenerational effects specific to education and social programming is an asset. Familiarity with Kwanlin Dün First Nation history, culture, goals and aspirations is required for success in the role.

This is not a developmental opportunity. KDFN is prepared to successfully onboard and provide new hire training and support to our chosen candidate. This is an Anticipatory Permanent Posting and Secondment will also be considered.
