Reporting to the Lands Manager, this position is responsible for the management of Kwanlin Dun's participation in the development assessment processes within the Traditional Territory including, but not limited to, review of proposed land development proposals, management of referrals and consultation requests and the YESAA process.
Required Qualifications (what we look/screen for on your resume):
- Degree in land management, or other related discipline; candidates with an equivalent combination of post-secondary education, training and land management experience will be equally considered;
- Knowledge of KDFN Final and Self-Government Agreements and their implementation;
- Understanding of land management regimes in the Yukon;
- Knowledge of KDFN Lands and Resources departmental responsibilities, objectives, policies and protocols;
- Familiarity with territorial and municipal land legislation and initiatives;
- Knowledge of environmental and socio-economic assessment policies and practices

- Ability to research and analyze information, issues, and trends related to land management
- Strong communication skills, oral and written, at technical and non-technical levels;
- Enhanced computer/ software proficiency;
- Excellent administrative and organizational skills;
- Ability to establish cooperative working relationships with clients, co-workers, general public and other government agencies;
- Ability to produce reports, general correspondence, and discussion papers, etc.
- Project management skills; and
- Ability to work under deadlines on a regular basis.
Knowledge of Kwanlin Dün First Nation governance structure, our community, heritage and culture, social structure, language and traditions, goals, and aspirations are essential for success in this position.
Conditions of employment: an acceptable pre-employment criminal records check, valid class 5 Driver’s License.
Job Requirements: Occasional travel to other Yukon communities. Variable work hours, occasional weekends as workload dictates.
