This is an exciting opportunity to work closely with Kwanlin Dün First Nation leadership, contribute to Nation‑building, and support decisions that have meaningful impact for the community.

The Executive Assistant to the Chief is a trusted role that supports the day‑to‑day effectiveness of the Office of the Chief. Working closely with the Chief and collaborating with leadership, this position helps ensure priorities are coordinated, information flows effectively, and the Chief is prepared for meetings, events, and engagements.

The role provides senior‑level administrative support, including calendar management, coordination of meetings and travel, and preparation of briefings and materials. This position is ideal for a highly organized and motivated individual who enjoys working in a dynamic environment and supporting strong leadership.

Required Qualifications (what we screen/look for on your resume):  An equivalent combination of post-secondary education, combined with significant current/lived experience in the areas identified below, will equally be considered.

  • Diploma in Office Administration, Business Administration or related field from a recognized institution, or equivalent.
  • Minimum 3-5 years experience providing senior administrative support on a daily basis; including managing schedules, preparing correspondence, meeting coordination, preparing briefing packages and assisting in speech and presentations.
  • Experience coordinating projects, initiatives, or office operations, including tracking information and follow‑up actions;
  • Experience providing research and support; preferably including experience giving recommendations or advice
  • Recent completion or demonstrated ability in using Microsoft Office Suite training – including Excel and Outlook

Knowledge and skills (what we may assess/interview on):

  • Excellent organization skills and time management
  • Strong technical skills to use programs like Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of FN History and Government – including First Nation Constitutions and Acts.
  • Ability to monitor and track information.
  • Strategic Thinking – including ability to problem solve.
  • Strong reading comprehension and effective use of discretion, judgement.
  • Excellent ability to remain confidential, resilient, and maintain tact & diplomacy.

Knowledge of Yukon First Nations history within formalized education systems, residential schools and on-going intergenerational effects specific to education and social programming is an asset. Familiarity with Kwanlin Dün First Nation history, culture, goals and aspirations is required for success in the role.

Conditions of Employment/Job Requirements (please see Job Description for further information): 

Salary:                  $68,286.40 - $113,549.80 per annum ($37.52 - $62.39 per hour) Level 6 *plus benefits
