Reporting to the Nitr’inkè-in Shi’ Hǫzǫ Tr’ëtä’àl (Nutrition Program Coordinator), this position will be responsible to provide cooking services for the Breakfast and Lunch program at Robert Service School as well as community meals identified by Tr’ondëk Hwëch’in. The main responsibilities are assisting the Nutritional Program Coordinator with weekly menu plans and, managing food orders, driving and delivering food, packaging and lifting small and large/heavy containers of food, working with other cooks to share jobs, and preparing nutritious meals for the breakfast and lunch program.
An Eligibility List may be established from this competition – the duration of the eligibility list may be up to 12 months. The eligibility list may be used to fill future permanent full-time, permanent part-time, temporary full-time, temporary part-time, term, or auxiliary on-call vacancies within the same department and classification based on the organizational needs by going the next highest ranked candidate until the eligibility list expires.

Essential Qualifications:
- Cooking courses or equivalent experience.
- Experience cooking traditional foods.
- Food safety courses or willingness to obtain.
- Knowledge and understanding of Northern Canadian Food Guide.
- Experience preparing nutritious meals for large groups – Over 100 servings.
- Ability to meet deadlines.
Assets:
- Ability to work as a team member.
- Ability to take initiative, work independently and meet deadlines.
- Organizational and time management skills.
Conditions of Employment:
- Criminal Records Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening.
- Class 5 driver’s license with a clear driver’s abstract.
- Standard First Aid / CPR, Remote First Aid, or willingness to obtain.
- Food Safe.
- Willingness to get and maintain medical clearance, annual flu shots and TB testing.
- Must be able to repeatedly lift containers over 50lbs.
