Permanent Full-time, Burwash Landing, Yukon
Salary: LT-4 - $70,856.93 to $99,012.85 per annum based on 70 hours bi-weekly (depending on qualifications and experience)About Kluane First Nation

KFN is seeking a Lands Officer responsible for supporting the overall administration of the Lands and Natural Resources Act. The position is tasked with undertaking processes and procedures of accepting and reviewing applications, including requests in Settlement Land interest and use. The incumbent will explain the Lands and Natural Resources Act, regulations, and lands management policy. This position is a main point of contact for KFN Citizens, staff, and the public regarding the land application process and procedures. This position also manages KFN’s geospatial infrastructure and assets.Education and Experience
Diploma in Renewable Resources, Natural Resources, or related field. Considerable experience working in land management, policy and/or community planning is required. Experience with ESRI GIS tools and services is considered an asset. Experience in the following: interpreting maps, legal surveys, plans and other cartographic information systems; records management, retrieval and information management practices; land planning and zoning requirements relating to land use; working in a digital environment and with data management software; and working with the Yukon Environmental and Socio-economic Assessment Board (YESAB) processes and YESAA legislation. An equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience may be considered.Conditions of Employment
- Hold a Valid Class 5 driver’s license, or willingness to obtain within three (3) months of employment, and an up-to-date driver’s abstract and clean record
- Hold a Standard or Wilderness First Aid certificate, or willingness to obtain within three (3) months of employment
- The incumbent must be willing and able to work within both an office and field environment, to travel, and to work overtime and outside of normal working hours
- Must be willing to undertake additional training
