Yukon University is seeking a dynamic nurse educator to join the faculty supporting the Practical Nurse diploma program. Reporting to the chair of Health, Education and Human Services, this position will conduct theoretical and practical lessons in classroom, distance-learning, lab and practicum settings (as needed), and assist with facilitation of simulation experiences in the human patient simulator lab.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of a baccalaureate degree in nursing. A master’s degree in nursing or one in progress, or master’s degree in another health-related field is considered an asset. It is required that the successful candidate be registered or eligible for registration with Yukon Registered Nurses Association. The successful candidate should also have a minimum of 5 years’ experience working in various clinical settings, such as community health, public health, continuing care, and acute care. Previous instructional experience, preferably in an adult education, is desired. Simulation certificate such as the Canadian Certified Simulation Nurse Educator (CCSNE) designation or the Keystones of Healthcare Simulation Certification is considered an asset. The successful candidate will also possess a valid Yukon Driver’s license.

Two different employment opportunities are available:
1. Permanent 0.75 FTE faculty instructor with a focus on lab instruction and clinical support
2. 18-month full-time term faculty instructor with a focus on theory/lab instruction and clinical support as needed
