Ayamdigut (Whitehorse) and Community CampusesYukon University is seeking a Coordinator/Instructor to join the Centre for Northern Innovation in Mining (CNIM) for the delivery of Heavy Equipment Operator Programming in Whitehorse and Yukon communities. CNIM provides services to industry and training for students that are unique in the country, thanks to state-of-the-art facilities, mobile classrooms, and high-tech simulators. Our close access to working mine sites, reclamation, and mineral exploration areas give students real-world experience.
The training offered by CNIM allows Yukon residents, and those wanting to live and work in Yukon, access to a variety of learning opportunities that are nationally recognized and uniquely customized for the North.
With your extensive knowledge and hands-on experience with heavy equipment operation, you will be conducting classroom, simulator, and heavy equipment training with curriculum supplied by Yukon University. Holding an unrestricted Class 5 Licence, clean driving abstract, and safety record will be mandatory. You will maintain the highest safety standards. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience, 8 years or more, as a heavy equipment operator with surface mining experience. Teaching experience and/or teaching qualification would be considered an asset, and additional certificates of qualification in mechanical trades would also be considered assets.
