Reporting to Director of Implementation, this position is responsible for facilitating the implementation of the Tr’ondëk Hwëch’in Final and Self-Government Agreements through the management of Implementation employees and oversight of Implementation initiatives. The position is also responsible for ensuring that all new and updated policies at Tr'ondëk Hwëch'in Government reflect core Tr'ondëk Hwëch'in values and principles and that all engagement with the community is done in a culturally-responsible way that respects ethics and confidentiality.
An Eligibility List may be established from this competition – the duration of the eligibility list may be up to 12 months. The eligibility list may be used to fill future permanent full-time, permanent part-time, temporary full-time, temporary part-time, term, or auxiliary on-call vacancies within the same department and classification based on the organizational needs by going the next highest ranked candidate until the eligibility list expires.

Essential Qualifications:
- Post-secondary degree in Political Science, Government Studies, Public Administration, Humanities, Science or a related field. An equivalent combination of education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities may be considered.
- Demonstrated previous experience working in a management level position combined with experience providing supervision, performance management, personnel administration and capacity development.
- Experience in translating land-based values into western-styled documents.
- Experience with financial management including budgets and programs.
- Ability to coordinate multiple projects and meet critical deadlines.
- Ability to write reports and briefings, and present recommendations to senior management.
- Ability to coordinate, lead and participate in team meetings, working groups, and to provide departmental representation on various committees and inter-governmental boards.
- Awareness of the political, cultural, social and economic environment in which Self-Governing First Nations operate.
Assets:
- Good decision-making, problem-solving, planning, and goal setting skills.
- Excellent understanding of community engagement techniques as well as, ethics and confidentiality in community-based research.
- General knowledge of Tr’ondëk Hwëch’in Land Claims Agreements, self-government agreement and implementation agreements and constitution.
- Knowledge of the Tr’ondëk Hwëch’in government structure, culture, traditions, history, demographics, family structures and socio-economic dynamics, challenges, and aspirations.
