On-Call, in Burwash Landing, Yukon
Salary: $43.01 to $58.48 per hour (depending on qualifications and experience)About Kluane First Nation

The Heritage Trails Lead is responsible for supervising and coordinating a field-based crew of up to four workers to maintain and revitalize heritage trails on the KFN Traditional Territory. This Lead position documents trail conditions and heritage resources, takes field notes, photos, and GPS data, and reports findings. This position requires strong leadership, field experience, and the ability to work collaboratively while respecting and incorporating Indigenous knowledge.Education and Experience
Relevant education in heritage, land-based, natural resources, or a related field is an asset. Considerable experience working in field-based and remote environments is required, including experience supervising crews in isolated locations. Experience participating in on-the-land projects and trail or heritage-related work is required. Carpentry skills are considered an asset. Experience in using GPS technologies, camera equipment, and satellite phones is required, along with a willingness to learn new equipment and data reporting technologies. An equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience may be considered.Conditions of Employment
- Holds a valid Class 5 Driver’s Licence and up-to-date clean driver’s abstract
- Completion of Chainsaw Safety Training and valid certification or is willing and able to obtain within three (3) months of employment
- Holds a Wilderness First Aid Certificate or is willing to obtain within three (3) months of employment
- Physically fit and able to perform all job duties, including carrying up to 50 lbs and walking long distances over varied terrain
- Willingness and ability to work weekends, overnight, and travel in remote locations, all weather conditions, and by various means of transportation
- Willingness to participate in required training
