Reporting to the Quality Assurance and Finance Operations Manager, the Finance Officer provides financial, administrative and clerical support to numerous Department positions primarily in a back-up/vacation coverage capacity, including positions related to accounts payable/receivable, procurement, medical travel, payroll and TH Trust disbursements. The incumbent performs their duties in accordance with TH legislation, policies, procedures and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), and with a high level of customer service.
An Eligibility List may be established from this competition – the duration of the eligibility list may be up to 12 months. The eligibility list may be used to fill future permanent full-time, permanent part-time, temporary full-time, temporary part-time, term, or auxiliary on-call vacancies within the same department and classification based on the organizational needs by going the next highest ranked candidate until the eligibility list expires.

Essential Qualifications:
- Completion of Grade 12 (or equivalent) and two years of experience working in a general office setting (experience working in an accounting office is an asset). An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered.
- Experience using computerized accounting software, with experiencing using Sage/Intacct an asset.
- Experience with data entry.
- Basic knowledge or experience in financial procedures, processes and budgeting.
- Proficiency in Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and videoconferencing technologies.
- Good organizational and time management skills, with an ability to multi-task and prioritize.
- Ability to pay attention to detail.
- Ability to be punctual, reliable and dependable.
Assets:
- Ability to work effectively in a cross-cultural environment and be sensitive and understanding of TH traditions, culture and values, including the ability to provide respectful, culturally aware Trust Disbursement services to Citizens, particularly Elders
- Strong professional and personal ethical and integrity standards.
