Reporting to the Adult Learning Success Coordinator, the incumbent assists in coordinating the TH/Yukon University Elders on Campus program at the Tr’odëk Hätr’unohtän Zho (Dawson Campus). This program recognizes Elders as trusted and respected community members who can share knowledge of traditional teachings, and provide ceremony, healing practices and guidance. The incumbent supports Elders at Tr’odëk Hätr’unohtän Zho (Dawson Campus) with a variety of programming, including but not limited to, talking circles, classroom facilitation, special events, workshops, campfire chats, music and storytelling. The incumbent ensures the Campus’ Learning Hub Lounge is comfortable, well-equipped with needed supplies and welcoming for students, community members and Elders.
An Eligibility List may be established from this competition – the duration of the eligibility list may be up to 12 months. The eligibility list may be used to fill future permanent full-time, permanent part-time, temporary full-time, temporary part-time, term, or auxiliary on-call vacancies within the same department and classification based on the organizational needs by going the next highest ranked candidate until the eligibility list expires.

Essential Qualifications:
- Knowledge of Yukon First Nations and the value and role of Tr’ondëk Hwëch’in Elders.
- Ability to communicate ideas and take direction.
- Ability to establish and maintain respectful working relationships, including with Yukon University staff, First Nation representatives, and visitors from the community or outside organizations.
- Willing to actively engage and participate in Elders on Campus programming and workshops.
- Willing to work flexible hours, including some weekends and evenings, when required.
- Good organizational and time management skills.
Conditions of Employment:
- Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening.
- Class 5 Driver’s License with clear driver’s abstract an asset.
- TH 101 Cultural Awareness training.
