$104,094.89 to $146,388.99 per annum based on 70 hours bi-weekly

Overview
The Director of Education is responsible for establishing, leading, and managing KFN’s Education Department, including structuring and implementing it as a fully functional department. Reporting to the Executive Director and accountable to Chief and Council, the 
Director oversees staff, professional development, budget management, policy development, and compliance with reporting and funding requirements. This role includes promoting programming and building relationships. Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills are required.

Education and Experience
A Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Education or other relevant fields of study and considerable senior leadership experience are required. Extensive experience in school administration and/or teaching would be preferred. Experience with conflict resolution and developing 
budgets are required. Experience creating and implementing educational programs is a strong asset. Experience working with/within a First Nation Government and within a remote community are preferred. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be 
considered.

Conditions of Employment

  • A Valid Yukon Class 4 driver’s license, or is willing to obtain with three (3) months of employment and an up-to-date driver’s abstract and clean record 
  • Clean Criminal Record and Vulnerable Sector Checks
  • Holds a valid Standard First Aid Certificate, or is willing to obtain within the first three (3) months of employment
  • Willing and able to travel within the territory and nationally, work overtime, and work outside of normal working hours and undertake additional training
