The Yukon First Nation Education Directorate (YFNED) Early Years Team is seeking a dedicated Early Years Visitor to support Indigenous families living in the Takhini River Subdivision. This role focuses on delivering culturally sensitive programming that promotes healthy pregnancies, early learning, and family well-being. Working closely with the CAFN and Whitehorse Early Years Program, the visitor will use a holistic, community-based approach to enhance parenting and child development.

YFNED is partnered with the Martin Family Initiative (MFI); a charity that works alongside First Nations, Inuit and Métis People in Canada to help foster Indigenous children and youth’s education and wellbeing. The MFI Early Years is an innovative evidence-informed program model that seeks to honor parents as their children’s first teachers, support healthy pregnancies and infancy and facilitate successful service navigation.

  • Diploma in Early Childhood Education, or equivalent work experience. 
  • Valid class 5 Driver’s License with acceptable drivers abstract, as regular travel is required.
  • Pre-employment Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Clearance.
  • Standard First Aid & CPR certification.

Preference will be given to citizens of the Champagne & Aishihik First Nation, & those of Indigenous ancestry.
