Reporting to the Implementation Manager, the incumbent leads the TH Government’s ongoing efforts to reflect, revitalize and embed Dënezhu ways of being, knowing and governing across all aspects of governance, with a specific focus on ensuring that TH legislation, policies, practices and procedures are grounded in Dënezhu values, principles and worldview. The incumbent plays a key role in building internal capacity, cultivating future leaders, and supporting the TH Government’s implementation, monitoring and mentorship efforts. This work includes leading strategic initiatives such as the Dënezhu Law Revitalization Project, developing education resources, and fostering understanding through culturally responsive engagement. The incumbent ensures that knowledge is respectfully documented for current and future use, and that ethical, confidential and culturally safe approaches guide all efforts.
An Eligibility List may be established from this competition – the duration of the eligibility list may be up to 12 months. The eligibility list may be used to fill future permanent full-time, permanent part-time, temporary full-time, temporary part-time, term, or auxiliary on-call vacancies within the same department and classification based on the organizational needs by going the next highest ranked candidate until the eligibility list expires.

Essential Qualifications:
- Post-secondary degree or diploma in Indigenous studies, ethnography, policy, governance, public administration, law or related field, with a minimum of two years of work experience in a related field; an equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered.
- General knowledge of Indigenous ways, philosophies and worldviews, with knowledge of Yukon Indigenous people’s history, cultures, values, traditions and ways of life.
- Knowledge of Dënezhu ways, philosophies and worldview.
- Experience analyzing, developing and presenting policy guidance and options through collaborative processes.
- Experience working with and writing about Indigenous knowledge, philosophies, values and practices.
- Experience in applying an Indigenous and Dënezhu lens to governance structures, including legislation, policy, guidelines and practices.
- Experience facilitating and leading group consultations with diverse interests to reach consensus.
- Awareness of the political, cultural, social and economic environments in which Self-Governing Yukon First Nations operate.
