Description:

The Social Collective is a non-profit organization (NPO) whose mission is to develop and support community and social initiatives that address the needs of student communities in post-secondary institutions. The initiatives supported or developed by the Social Collective aim to take concrete action to reduce the impact of issues and problems encountered by student communities in Turtle Island/Canada. The actions taken by the Social Collective are deployed in the spheres of society where young people thrive and evolve.

The Social Collective is seeking contributors in  Whitehorse to expand the network of establishments participating in the Order an Angelot program. The program aims to prevent sexual and gender-based violence in bars and festive spaces and is free of charge to participating bars across  Whitehorse. An "Angelot" is a fake cocktail one could order at any accredited establishment to signal that they've been subjected to sexual violence and that they need help. We provide training to equip bar staff with the knowledge and skills to respond effectively to such situations and prevent sexual violence from happening in the first place.

As a contributor, your primary mission will involve promoting the program within local bars and establishments. This entails visiting bars, initiating contact with management, presenting the program and helping to coordinate logistics for training sessions.
