Yukon University is seeking a Community Living Navigator to develop and administer a Community Living Program within Campus Housing.

Expanding on the more traditional “conduct officer” role, this position will be responsible for the revision of the student conduct framework; updating Community Standards and conduct related processes; hiring and supervising of a Student Community Leadership Team; educating occupants on community expectations; working closely with the larger Student Success Team and beyond to ensure community development, student engagement, and student development and wellness is an integrated approach; engaging with Early Alert; and investigating and managing incidents of misconduct that arise. This position will ensure that responses to non-academic misconduct support occupants in their learning and personal development by providing opportunities for engagement, reflection, accountability, education and reconciliation.

The ideal candidate will have a post-secondary degree in Education, Social Work, Criminal Justice, Psychology, Counseling, Social Science, or related discipline, along with several years’ professional experience in judicial services and investigations, residential life, student conduct, behavioural counseling, student advocacy or related experience, preferably in a postsecondary environment. Formal training in student conduct, administrative justice and/or risk and threat assessment are highly valued assets.
