The YFNED Mobile Therapeutic and Allied Health Unit is seeking a dynamic, insightful and compassionate individual to join the team as a Clinical Counsellor. Our ideal candidate will have deep understanding of the social, economic and educational issues First Nation People of Canada face and will be able to approach their practice with an indigenous lens while providing a holistic and culturally relevant care. The ability build relationships and trust in Yukon communities will be key to success in this role.

The Clinical Counsellor works to provide Indigenous children, youth and their families in Yukon communities with clinical counselling and wellness support. The Counsellor works from a child/youth-centered, family-led, and community-based perspective. Drawing upon strengths from First Nations culture, the Counsellor will provide timely and accurate information, assessments, intakes, and counselling services, as well as developing plans to overcome barriers, which may include making referrals to other allied health supports.

Hiring preference will be provided to those who identify as an Indigenous person of Canada.
