Reporting to the Manager, Business Decision Support (BDS), this position supports the Company in making critical business decisions to achieve strategic corporate objectives. The Analyst, Business Decision Support will work closely with the Manager, Business Decision Support to create and evolve economic models to evaluate the profitability of projects or services, evaluate pricing strategies, and support regulatory proceedings. The Analyst, Business Decision Support will be responsible for developing and maintaining cross-departmental relationships at all levels of the organization. This position requires an individual who enjoys working with numbers and working with people in order to achieve an organizational objective. Additionally, this position participates in special projects related to the critical operations of the organization as a whole or for specific business units as required.

Specific Accountabilities
- Design and develop economic models utilizing elements of cost accounting, management accounting, actuarial sciences, along with associated risks and probabilities to evaluate options and contingencies to quantify and analyze data in support of the business decision process with respect to new or existing business services or special
- Design, develop and update all forward looking service cost models to advance modelling cost analysis in the
- Develop and maintain strong working relationships with subject matter experts (SME) within Product Marketing, Product Management, Information Technology, Network Design Build, and Network & Field Operations to gain an understanding of emerging network technology, provisioning practices and organizational capabilities that will be factored into the cost models for business decision
- Provide support in the planning, implementation, and administration of medium and long term enhancements to the costing
- Share knowledge regarding business decision support systems/mechanisms to mentor or develop subject matter experts within the Finance Department and the
- Identify opportunities for applying business decision support systems/mechanisms within the Company that add value and bring these to the attention of the Manager, Business Decision Support.
- Prepare regulatory cost studies for submission to the Canadian Radio Television and Telecommunications Commission (CRTC) as directed by the Manager, Business Decision Support.
- Conduct research and financial analyses to assess the implications of regulatory
- Prepare Company submissions on a broad range of topics to the Canadian Radio Television and Telecommunications Commission (CRTC) in support of cost
Knowledge and Competencies Required
- Bachelor’s degree in economics or engineering, or a professional finance or accounting designation, such as a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) or Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA).
- Minimum five (5) years extensive experience in economics, finance or accounting-related activities in business intelligence gathering, modeling and
- Master of Business Administration is an asset.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with proven attention to detail.
- Detailed knowledge of incremental costing and economic principles related to costing, including concepts of time value of money, and economic evaluators such as Net Present Value (NPV), payback period, rate of return, cost of capital etc.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, research, organizational, planning, project management, and facilitation skills with the ability to convey ideas effectively to non-financial/economic
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple assignments within a self-managed
- Strong computer skills and the ability to quickly learn internal computer
- Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Excel with a proven ability to create well-organized and flexible Excel templates which link to existing evaluation
- Results oriented with an ability to work under stringent timeframes, under minimal
- Ability to analyze and manipulate significant amounts of
