Specific Accountabilities
- Perform installation, maintenance, or repair to company facilities and associated systems.
- Engage with contractors to facilitate the installation, maintenance, or repair of facilities, and systems including but not limited to electrical wiring, plumbing, mechanical, HVAC, fire protection and security systems and controls.
- Produce and maintain accurate records, files, reports and applicable databases.
- Assess company facilities for risks, monitor to prevent alarms and system shutdowns, and ensure environment is operating at a safe temperature.
- Perform all duties in accordance with Company, industry, and legal safety requirements.
- Contribute to continuous improvement in the delivery of products and services to internal and external customers.
- Driven to engage in continuous learning and skill improvement.
Knowledge and Skills Required
- Journeyman status, Inter-Provincial Standards Red Seal or four (4) years related journeyman level experience is required in one or more of the following: Electrical, Refrigeration or Air Conditioning.
- Experience in carpentry would be considered an asset.
- Possess valid driver’s license (minimum class 5).
- Ability to work effectively independently as well as a member of a team
- Possess strong written/verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability, through past work experience, using Microsoft Access or similar is required.
- Must be physically capable of carrying extension ladders and other tools or equipment long distances and lifting and moving up to 23 kilograms (51 pounds).
- Must be willing to work inside or outside in adverse weather conditions.
- Able to travel by helicopter or airplane.
- Certifications in Transportation of Dangerous Goods, Defensive Driving, First Aid, Safety, WHMIS, Inter-personal Skills are assets, if not currently certified training will be provided and is required.
