Assessment District Manager

Teslin Designated Office

Full-time, permanent position, working 75 hours bi-weekly

$100,700.14 - $129,669.55

A hiring preference will apply for qualified candidates of Canadian Indigenous ancestry, with a priority for qualified Yukon First Nation candidates.

Eligibility

  • An undergraduate degree and/or post-secondary training in environmental science, social science or a similar field of study is preferred.  Relevant work experience may be considered.
  • General knowledge of the Yukon Environmental and Socio-economic Assessment Act, as well as Yukon First Nations and First Nations Agreements, is required.
  • Experience working in a First Nation government is considered an asset.


Location:

The Assessment District Manager works in Teslin, Yukon.

The Assessment District Manager, reporting to the Assessment Director, will be a part of the Assessment Branch, as well as YESAB’s management team. The Assessment District Manager is responsible for:

  • Managing and supporting all projects assessed in the Teslin Assessment District.
  • Maintaining relationships with proponents, Government of Canada, First Nations and Yukon Government.
  • Ensuring that participants understand the assessment review process and how to best participate in that process
  • Managing the operations of the Designated Office and providing support, guidance, and supervision to staff.
  • Preparing and reviewing detailed evidence-based recommendation reports that present assessment outcomes.
