Yukon University is seeking a detail-oriented, organized, and proactive Administrative Assistant to support the daily operations of our University Infrastructure Division. This division includes Safety & Security Services, Infrastructure, and Facilities, and plays a vital role in keeping our campuses running smoothly, safely, and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
The Administrative Assistant supports the University Infrastructure Division by coordinating schedules, meetings, travel, correspondence, and internal communications; processing purchase orders, invoices, financial documents, and HR forms; and maintaining organized filing systems, office supplies, and help ticket workflows. The role also manages asset disposal by coordinating approvals, preparing and posting online auction listings, overseeing sale processes, and maintaining accurate records. In addition, the position handles shipping and receiving activities, including processing deliveries, maintaining tracking logs and databases, organizing storage areas, preparing documentation, and coordinating with couriers and internal departments—all while ensuring excellent customer service, accurate recordkeeping, and compliance with YukonU policies and procedures.Education & Experience
• Post-secondary education in office administration, business, or a related discipline (Business Administration diploma preferred).
• 1–2 years of experience in administrative or office support roles.
• Experience with shipping/receiving or inventory management is an asset.
• Familiarity with online auction platforms (e.g., GovDeals.com) is an advantage.
• Experience in government, public sector, education, or facilities environments is considered beneficial.Knowledge & Skills
• Strong understanding of office administration practices and document management.
• Basic knowledge of surplus asset disposal and logistics coordination.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
• Comfortable using databases, digital forms, and online listing platforms.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, excellent organization, accuracy, and attention to detail and ability to multitask, prioritize, and maintain confidentiality.For more information, contact:
