Yukon University has an exciting career opportunity for an individual with strong leadership skills and a background in accounting systems, process development, and project management.

As the Manager of Budgets, you will play a pivotal role in shaping Yukon University's financial future. Reporting to the Director of Finance, you will be responsible for planning, developing, implementing, and monitoring the University’s budget. But that's not all. You will also lead, coach, and develop a team of Budget Officers, guiding them to meet the day-to-day and future departmental and employee requirements. Your role will extend beyond budgeting, as you will provide financial reporting support through various areas including but not limited to the year-end audit, financial statements, third-party revenue projects, designing and automating FAST reports, developing, and implementing training workshops, and creating costing/revenue models/projections for various projects.

We are looking for a candidate who brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the role. The successful candidate will have a Diploma or degree in accounting or completion of the second year towards an accounting designation (e.g. CGA, CA, CMA, CPA) and/or an equivalent combination of education and experience. A thorough knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and practices is required. Your extensive work experience in accounting, specifically budget management process development and project costing, will be highly valued. Strong people management skills are a requirement for this position. Knowledge of post-secondary environment finance, including the FAST and Banner applications, is an asset.
