Skills for Life, Land and Work

Description:


This 12-week program will allow for self-exploration and workplace skills development through traditional activities. This program is designed for KDFN citizens who are currently unemployed to strengthen workplace essential skills, focus on personal wellness and increase self development through cultural pursuits. Participants will discover "work that fits," develop a personalized action plan and gain work experience through a work/volunteer placement.


The program will include Wilderness First Aid, Trapper Certification Training, Snowshoe making, trap line on the land trip, Firearms Safety, Career counseling and other learning.


Participants must be open to change and committed for the entire 12 weeks of the program. There is an application and interview that all applicants must go through.


Program is open to unemployed KDFN citizens. Application deadline Friday, September 7, 2018.
